The mechanism is inherited-site-trust. An authoritative site is crawled often because Google has learned it publishes content worth checking, so new URLs there are found and indexed quickly instead of languishing in a discovery queue. Beyond speed, the site’s history of quality and its established credibility on the topic give Google a reason to trust a new page provisionally, ranking it on the strength of where it lives until the page accumulates its own signals. That inherited trust is why a fresh page on a strong site can appear and rank in days where the same page on a new domain would crawl slowly and rank from the bottom.

This is why treating every new page as starting from zero is wrong. The page does start with little of its own, but it does not start with nothing, because the domain’s trust is part of how Google evaluates it from the first crawl. The starting position is the site’s standing, not a blank slate, and that difference in starting position is the whole reason identical content ranks faster on the stronger domain. The page borrows credibility it has not yet earned, and that borrowed credibility shows up as faster crawling and quicker ranking.

So leverage the site’s trust deliberately when you publish something new. Put new pages on your most authoritative, topically relevant domain rather than spinning them up on a fresh one, and connect them into the site so the inherited trust reaches them quickly. Publish where the trust already lives, and your new pages crawl and rank faster on the strength of it.
